Robert Herrera

Visual Coordinator

Robert Herrera is excited for what’s to come with his first season on the Atlas Percussion Visual Staff! He was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Orlando, Florida. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, and is a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He was also a performer for the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps (2013-2016), holding leadership roles such as section leader and horn sergeant.

Robert has worked as a visual and music instructor for numerous high school programs in the Orlando area since 2014, teaching at programs such as University High School, Oviedo High School, and Olympia High School. He spent a couple summers teaching brass at Heat Wave Drum and Bugle Corps (2017-2018), and taught visual for Ancient City Ensemble for the 2020 season.

Currently, Robert is a middle school band/orchestra director at OCPS Academic Center for Excellence in Orlando, FL. He is the visual caption head at Edgewater High School in Orlando, FL, and he has also been on the visual staff at The Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque, Iowa for the past two seasons (2022-2023).

During his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing Jackbox with his friends, and being caught up with the latest Marvel and Star Wars content.
